From a dairy farm started in 1919 evolved the farm and fruit stand with the grit and grace of E.J. and Bess Wade. This establishment was a small roadside stand(as seen in picture to upper right.) The business grew and in 1969 moved into a larger farm store, just further back from the road! This is the Wade's we now know. It continues to be owned and operated by the Wade family, now E.J. and Bess's son and grandchildren.

E.J. once said as quoted in The Hartford Times in 1950, "I don't try to sell anything in my stand that I wouldn't want to eat myself. I've found that the consumer will come back to the stand only if you give him top quality."
That is the motto Wade's still lives by today.
